Instructor Bio: Ed May
Ed May is an American Society for Quality Fellow, Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (ASQ CSSBB), Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) and Certified Supply Quality Professional (CSQP) who spent two decades in the manufacturing industry before establishing himself in 2001 as a quality consultant, adjunct professor, and on-site instructor.
Ed specializes in Statistics, Six Sigma Quality, Lean Thinking, and ISO 9001:2015 Quality Systems. Ed has implemented Statistics, Six Sigma, Lean Thinking, ISO 9000, and other quality systems at numerous organizations in the New York Metropolitan area.
Before becoming a quality and productivity consultant, Ed held various positions in engineering, manufacturing, and quality management in local manufacturing companies.
For the last dozen years, Ed has taught courses in Business, Quality Systems and Statistics for the School of Management and the Engineering Technology Department at NJIT. He teaches Lean Six Sigma Courses for NJIT’s PDEE Professional Development & Executive Education.
Ed brings a unique combination of academic rigor and real world experience to this Quality Systems course. His passion for Statistics and Quality is well known among his students, many of whom have taken his courses and gone on to great success in their chosen fields.
Ed has been an Adjunct Instructor at NJIT for 18 years. He was declared the NJIT NCE “Adjunct Instructor of the Year” for 2022.
